It can honestly be said that one of your life's greatest thrills will be the unique experience of interacting with one of earth's giants, the Gray Whale. These gentle cetaceans migrate over 5,000 miles annually from the icy Bering Sea to the warm protected lagoons of Baja's Pacific. They come here to mate and give birth to their young from January to March. We will take you to watch these magnificent creatures breaching, spyhopping (a kind of peek-a-boo), play with their young and nurse their newborns. It is not uncommon to even have them come and rub themselves right up against your boat, with eyes staring, then rolling on their backs for a tummy rub.
You can experience all of this in one day! Whether you do the whale watching trip off of Loreto's local islands or take the 2 1/2 hr. drive from Loreto to Magdalena Bay on the Pacific side of Baja, it will be great. You will venture out in 25ft. skiffs with a nature guide. Lunch, snacks and transportation to and from Loreto are also included. You'll have a Whale of a Good Time! And don't forget your camera!
